Its up for pre order on Friday, with a full release coming on March 3. Once again, it meticulously finds the point where good but not great hardware can become strong value at the right price. Here, that price is either 2. GB of RAM and 3. 2 GB of storage, or 2. Ive been using the latter for the past week, and I dont think there is a better pound for pound value for less than than 3. Still, it forces you to accept a few clear compromises. Heres what I mean The Moto G5 Plus design is best described as a phone. Now that its owned by Lenovo, its just another company, even though its software still has few customizations to get in the way. For now, its hard to say if the Moto G will be updated any quicker. For what its worth, its starting with Android 7. OS. Meanwhile, the latest security patch on my review unit is from January that, too, is behind. Nevertheless, the fact that Motos software is clean gives it one leg up over its peers, and Lenovos add ons are nifty.
